Patagon Journal is proud to announce the launch of its first Patagonia Photo Contest. The contest is open to photo submissions not only from Chileans and Argentines, but from anyone around the word who has visited and photographed this beautiful region.

 

With such an amazing canvas to work with, we’re confident that the results of this contest should be spectacular. Whether you’re an amateur or professional photographer, or just someone who loves Patagonia, this is a good-spirited competition that celebrates the region and the effort to create stunning photos of its extraordinary land and character.

Photographers may submit up to two photos in each of the four categories:

 

·       Nature: wildlife; trees and plants; landscapes


 

·       Environment: environmental dilemmas


 

·       Travel & Culture: images that reflect the region's unique history, culture and heritage. Images that capture a sense of place, showing the spirit and essence of Patagonia.


 

·       Outdoor sports: people enjoying the great outdoors, such as fly fishing, climbing, trekking, biking, kayaking, and other diverse sports or activities.

 

With the help of our generous sponsors – Patagonia, Puyuhuapi Lodge & Spa, Mall Sport and Surfotos.cl -- we have some truly great prizes.

 

All first and second place images will be featured in an upcoming edition of the magazine; printed for display for one month at an exposition at Mall Sport in Santiago, Chile, in March 2013; and will receive a 1-year subscription to the magazine.

 

The 4 first place winners will furthermore receive a gift certificate to the Patagonia stores in Santiago.

 

The overall, grand prize winner will also receive a 3-nights stay for two persons at Puyuhuapi Lodge & Spa in Aysen, Patagonia.

 

We will feature several photo submissions on our blog and Facebook page each day, so check back often to see if your photo is there and do let us know which photos are your favorites by giving them a “like” on Facebook.
