Day 1
After meeting at the airport or bus terminal, we head to Vicente Pérez Rosales National Park, to the place that will be our mountain home for the next five days. A cozy-wooden-hut in the slopes of the Osorno volcano with a privileged view of the Llanquihue Lake area (3,950 feet).
Accommodation: Teski Mountain hut
Meals: Dinner
Day 2
We head to the Antillanca area in Puyehue National Park, approximately 2 hours driving. The climb is a nice trek in volcanic scree or snowy flanks. We will climb 3,084 feet, about 3 hours to reach the summit. On the drive back we make a stop at "Aguas Calientes" hot springs to relax before the drive back to the Osorno volcano.
Accommodation: Teski Mountain hut
Meals: Breakfast, Box-Lunch, Dinner
Day 3
Our next destination is the Llanquihue National Reserve where we climb the Calbuco volcano. We use the “Valle de Los Ulmos route” from Ensenada, so the drive there is not more than 30 minutes. Our climb starts at nearly sea-level and reaches over 6,550 feet, allowing us to discover evergreen forest and enjoy incredible panoramas of the Pacific Ocean and Lakes District far below.
Accommodation: Teski Mountain hut
Meals: Breakfast, Box-Lunch, Dinner
Day 4
Rest or reserve day in case of bad weather. If you would like, we can organize a rafting trip or a visit to the Ralún hot springs. Other possibilities include biking to Petrohue, trekking in the Osorno volcano area or spending the day in Puerto Varas.
Accommodation: Teski Mountain hut
Meals: Breakfast, Box-Lunch, Dinner
Day 5
We complete our Southern Chile Volcanoes Experience with the Osorno volcano. The climb is not just physically demanding, but it also requires us to use glacier travel techniques to reach the summit. From the mountain hut we need between 6-8 hours to reach the breathtaking views looking out over seemingly the entire expanse of southern Chile. After the ascent we reflect on the past 5 days over lunch at the mountain hut, then drive back to Puerto Varas. End of activity.
Meals: Breakfast, snack, lunch
